Absolute Journey Tribute with Riccardo Curzi
For Riccardo Curzi, lead vocalist in Absolute Journey Tribute, his soul journey led him to leave his home and family in Italy and move to Canada on his own to start living his true passion and meaningful purpose in life. Riccardo says “I reached a point where I really didn’t like myself at the time or what I was doing in life. I decided I had to make some changes. I needed to get positive in my thinking and within myself.”
In January 2014, the band Absolute Journey Tribute was formed and they started rehearsing. By April of that year, the band had their first live performance and they have been growing ever since with bookings at festivals, casinos, theatres and cruise ships.
The band now tours across Canada, United States and Central America. In October 2016, they are booked to play in Trinidad and more events are being negotiated internationally to play at family oriented venues where audiences want to relax and enjoy an uplifting, positive experience.
Riccardo chose a Journey tribute because they are a happy, soulful band that has a lot of passion, positive messages and energy that people are craving. Journey is a band that has always stayed in the public eye and even the younger generations are still getting in to it today.
For Riccardo, it’s about keeping the legacy of Journey and their positive vibes going as long as he can and something he feels honored to give the audiences who share the same sentiment for all that Journey has created and given over the years with their music and entertaining performances.
Riccardo willingly shares the wisdom from his own journey to live life on purpose with meaning and significance for others who want to succeed in the music industry.
His advice, “Be blessed to know what you want and find the fuel for your soul to stay focused and motivated that keeps you growing. The problem most musicians face is their attitude, not being hopeful and not believing they are good enough to make it in the music industry. They are afraid to take the first step. It’s all about fear so they don’t set their initial goals big enough when it comes to making money and they settle for the smaller paying gigs.
You have to make your product, believe in what you are doing and aim to continually improve it. People pleasing, is a failure on happiness and ineffective for success so you need to be a strict judge of your own performance and aim to continually improve it to your own satisfaction. Everybody fails, it’s not about that but how fast you can learn from your mistakes, pick yourself back up and get back on track again!
The concept of sex, drugs and rock’n’roll in the music industry are negative driving forces and distractions in your focus. Once you get the right perspective and learn to maintain it your life and opportunities will naturally start to flow better.”
This summer the band has several bookings at family oriented festivals that are appropriate for all ages and anyone who wants to get out and experience the positive vibes and healing power of music. On Labor Day Weekend, Absolute Journey Tribute will be playing at Hopefest Presents Music 4 Miracles in support of SickKids Foundation at Eaglewood Resort in Pefferlaw Ontario. This fundraising event will raise money to help build Marnie’s Studio so patients and their families can enjoy art and music as part of their treatment while they stay at the hospital.
